Queer people usually experience mental health issues as personal problems, although they are a collective struggle. We want to bring the topic back to the community. We’ll share our stories and the session will provide a toolkit of acceptance and self-care skills. The question is: how can we allow ourselves to be fully us, with all our worries, insecurities, body issues and challenging emotions? Instead of these isolating us, we’ll explore our shared experiences.

Nick has over 30 years’ experience of meditation, including 7 years as a Buddhist monk. He’s trained in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). For 13 years he has shared self-care practices in a weekly group for gay/bi/trans men in London.

Stephan studied social sciences and psychology and is regularly inspired by meditation. He started a support group based upon Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an evidence-based approach focusing on values, mindfulness and psychological flexibility.
