We experience the world through our skin, distinguishing silk from stone, feeling a breeze, hugging a friend. We can use touch to give relaxation, comfort or excitement. In this workshop we’ll explore touch in a non-sexual way, as a language that we can use to let brain and body communicate. We deconstruct touch and then build it up again from its basic components: pressure, temperature, speed, vibration. We work on ourselves and/or partners.

Adriaan Norbart
Adriaan trained as a Swedish massage therapist before exploring other forms of massage and touch. During the pandemic he started online meetings about self-touch because he noticed people getting “skin-hungry”. He’s interested in touch as a language, but also as a neuro-physiological phenomenon. Stroking the fabric of his favorite blanket makes him feel happy and at ease.
