Monotheistic (and other) religions and many cultures tell us we don't have a right to exist. Reality is however that we were always there: in each village or town, in each generation. In the LGBTQI+ Ritual we create a collective dream in which we experience that we are part of a continuum. We will meet, become and embrace our ancestors. When we truly face them, we finally see ourselves for who we are. Seeing, feeling and breathing our roots, we find ground.
Daan van Kampenhout
Daan van Kampenhout (1963) started roaming the streets of Amsterdam in gender-bender post-punk creations in the very early eighties. A life long student of shamanism, about 25 years ago he combined elements of family constellations and shamanic paradigms to create Systemic Ritual. Daan lives in Amsterdam and Berlin, and works worldwide as a facilitator of ritual and trainer of therapists and group leaders. Forty years since he started, he continues to create outfits free of gender norms, mostly for KitKatClub where he has worked as a dancer/performer.
