Jacob & Tate
he | they

Jacob is a social worker and interdisciplinary artist currently diving into postgraduate research in mental health social work at University College Dublin. His practice lives at the lively intersection of clinical work, mental health policy, and creative storytelling, exploring how social systems shape identity, well-being, and community resilience. With over a decade of experience in filmmaking and performance, Jacob creates work that challenges perceptions of mental health, neurodivergence, and marginalisation. Beyond the studio, he draws on hands-on experience from social work placements, teaching, and community program development, always aiming to make care inclusive, accessible, and a little unexpected.
Tate, also known as Tato, hails from Georgia and now calls Germany home. Three years ago, they freed himself from the shy, suppressed Tato and embarked on a vibrant journey toward wholeness. Along the way, he’s changed locations, joined Village, dared Stretch, and met incredible people who’ve helped him grow. By day, Tate is a software product manager; by night, a painter. But there’s more to him than meets the eye—he’s constantly exploring hidden corners of himself, chasing new experiences, and embracing challenges that push them forward.
