play is a source of joy, pleasure and fun – and it's everywhere: from the smallest cellular interaction, to the most complex social organization. through play we learn about ourselves, connect with each other and discover the world. we laugh, pretend, imagine and dream. and what happens with our bodies – our nervous systems – when we engage in play? in this workshop we will play theater games and games of our childhoods, whilst asking ourselves: in a moment of planetary crisis, how can we use the ability to play to (re-)imagine and dream about the world?

i am hugo x tibiriçá (no pronouns / they / them), a queer non-binary interdisciplinary artist, somatic practitioner and workshop facilitator born in rio de janeiro, brazil. i studied theater at école philippe gaulier, an international theater school based in paris, centered in the idea of "le jeu". i am currently a student of somatic experiencing, a body-based approach to renegotiating and resolving trauma stored in the body.
