In June, instinct.berlin and we.are.village welcome Amsterdam-based interdisciplinary artist Ahmed El Gendy to Berlin for an artistic residency exploring questions of proximity, intimacy, agency, and memory.
For Stretch, Ahmed opens the studio at we.are.village for a work-in-progress sharing. The evening brings together a short solo performance and glimpses from their Encounters project, developed through meetings and exchanges during the past week in Berlin.

Ahmed El Gendy
Ahmed El Gendy ist ein ägyptischer Künstler mit Sitz in Amsterdam. In seiner Arbeit mit Video und Live-Performance untersucht er Konzepte von Handlungsfähigkeit, Nähe, Ausdauer und Begegnung. Er hat einen Masterabschluss in Choreografie von der Amsterdam University of the Arts. Zudem leitet er Bewegungsworkshops in akademischen und gemeinschaftlichen Kontexten.
